The hope is of course the presence of this site can be a reference for the community to make online loans. In its launch, the Head of the Payment System Policy Department of Bank Indonesia (BI) Filianingsih Hendarta said the presence of this site was also part of a commitment to eradicate the rise of illegal fintech.
"This site will provide great benefits and provide accurate, reliable information," said Filianingsih, Thursday (11/11).
On this site, the public can see a list of fintech operators with registered, registered, or licensed status from BI, OJK, to Kominfo. This platform is also an education to improve people's financial literacy, especially digital finance.
On the same occasion, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Wimboh Santoso said that the public is also advised to continue to improve financial literacy in the midst of rampant illegal online loans (pinjol) which have recently become increasingly disturbing.
“We are also aware of the excesses, we really consider the goal especially for consumer protection, who do not understand which products are suitable for the people themselves. This is for literacy education, it is very important to remind the public to be careful of illegal borrowing," said Wimboh.
Wimboh added, along with the national fintech month, his party is optimistic about eradicating illegal lending.
"We, together with stakeholders, have agreed to eradicate illegal loans if they violate applicable laws," he explained.
OJK together with relevant stakeholders strive and are committed to safeguarding the financial services industry in protecting the interests of the public by promoting low-cost technology-based products.
"And also provide fast services in all regions, protect consumers as well, and prioritize public education literacy (about digital finance," he said.
